Del Mar Thoroughbred Club - The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club is one of the most popular racetracks in California. Located in the seaside resort town of Del Mar, the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club is a hot spot for celebrities, and has been for years. Bing Crosby is just one of the founders of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, which opened its doors to the public and Hollywood's elite in 1937.
This Del Mar racetrack was developed by a group of Hollywood greats and business entrepreneurs. Among them are Bing Crosby, Jimmy Durante, Charles S. Howard (owner of the famous Seabiscuit), and Pat O'Brien. The Del Mar racetrack did not do as well until an important, landmark race between Seabiscuit and Binglin Stables' (run by Crosby and friend Lindsay Howard) prized colt, Ligaroti. The match was a winner-takes-all, and Seabiscuit won by a nose! From that moment on, the track became a hot spot for many entertainers including Desi Arnez, Lucille Ball, and Ann Miller.
Sea World - The Sea World Adventure Park is more than just the place to go to see Shamu these days. One of the prime locations for Sea World is San Diego, California. Shows at Sea World San Diego include the Shamu Show, the Dolphin Discovery, Clyde and Seamore's Risky Rescue (prepared to get drenched!), R.L. Stine's Haunted Lighthouse, Pets Rule!, and Cirque de la Mer. There are several adventure and thrill rides for visitors of all ages as well as numerous attractions, places to dine, and entertainment venues.
Legoland - The unique Legoland theme park is a place for both kids and adults to explore their own creativity. With many amazing creations made out of Legos which can be played on, studied, and explored, Legoland truly is an amazing experience for any traveler to California's southern coast. Legoland has a place to play and dig in the sand, roller coasters, and rides for younger members of the family to enjoy. The park is located in North San Diego County in the city of Carlsbad.
